Why It Matters

Why are you in business? What is your goal?

Do you know the specific numbers that are essential to achieving your goal?

We’re talking beyond the door count. Everyone wants more clients. But how effectively are your current resources working for you? Are you on a financially sustainable path?

Can you answer these questions with numbers?

In 2019, the NARPM Accounting Standards (NAS) gave NARPM members a framework to know your own numbers, as well as some solid benchmarks. If you know your numbers, and you know the benchmarks, then you know both where you are, and what’s possible.

Now you can define a realistic target that gets you to where you want to go. And with this financial clarity, you may just find that you can achieve more than you thought possible.

Scores of property managers have experienced exactly that. Like Shirley with 3G Properties, for example. Three years ago, she was managing 153 units, and paying (losing!) $19,377 to do it. Today she’s managing 223 units, working less than half-time, and taking home $221,688…in addition to her market-based salary. That’s the power of financial clarity.

Maybe you’re one of those success stories. (And even if not, we think you could be.)

Yes, the 2019 benchmarks are very helpful. Game-changing, even. But we’ve found a need to go further. We need new and improved metrics with deeper layers of insight. We need updated numbers that reflect the current realities on this side of COVID and the real estate market swings.

You need to know you’re still aiming at the right target.

It’s time for NARPM Accounting Standards (NAS) 2022.

NARPM is conducting the 2022 NARPM Financial Benchmark Study! This study is designed to provide PMs with updated business insights for today’s market.

  • Newly segmented benchmarks so you can compete in the division that makes sense for your business.
  • Fresh insights for your strategic decision-making.
  • Next-level targets for the growth-minded entrepreneur to aim at — and then crush.

ProfitCoach, the team behind the original benchmarks, will administer the study on behalf of NARPM.

And YOU have an opportunity to help define the newest benchmarks… and even which benchmarks matter most to you!

NARPM has spearheaded many initiatives to grow and improve our industry. But the true significance of the NARPM designation has always come from the contributions of individual NARPM members. FAQ

Your data will be kept strictly confidential, and will not be shared with any 3rd parties.
All you’ll need to do upon being selected to join the study, is provide access to specific reports in your accounting & PM softwares, and complete a survey with a few additional questions about your company. If there are any questions about your data, you may need to provide a few additional answers. That’s it!

No, you can still join! We would like to include your data in the Benchmark Study, whether converted or not converted.
